Danger, Danger: Construction Work Accidents
Construction work is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.
A few months ago, a construction workers died when the lift he was working on fell. While falling, the lift got tangled in some high voltage electrical wires and the worker was electrocuted. The utility company had to cut power lines before the lift could be moved and the man’s body recovered.
In another construction accident, two men were in the basket of a lift, installing aluminum panels on some new buildings. While the cause is still unknown the lift fell, causing the two men to fall nearly 30 feet. One construction worker immediately lost his life, the other was severely injured and later succumbed to death.

Scaffold Collapse Construction Accident Kills Three
Talk about a scaffolding accident waiting to happen – and it did.
This is what happens when there is no oversight to inspecting scaffolding. No city or state entity is proactive and the federal OSHA only inspects when there is an accident.
In 2006, a three ton scaffold collapsed on busy street killing three victims -- two construction workers and a doctor who was driving by plus flattened several cars. OSHA had previously fined the two companies responsible. They paid their fines and are considered to be “good” companies regarding safety but what qualifies them for a good rating?
How is it that a might structure like a scaffold can slips through the crack for inspections?
There are millions of dollars in damages and three people are dead. Will these construction companies still have a good rating?

Philadelphia Construction Accident
It was a day for miracles.
At a local Philadelphia construction site, a 4,100 pound slab fell from the back of a truck and landed on a construction worker's pelvic area.
Fellow coworkers sprang into action and lifted the slab.
Imagine the adrenalin pumping.
Last reported the injured construction worker was in stable condition with a broken hip. It could've been far worse but it sounds like the worker still needs a good construction accident lawyer by his side.
